Planned Care Manager
Location: Hutt Hospital

Are you a dynamic and detail-focused leader ready to make a meaningful impact on planned care delivery in Hutt Valley? We are seeking a Planned Care Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring patients experience a seamless health journey through our hospitals.
In this fast-paced and evolving role, you will work closely with the District Operations Manager, Service Managers, and Clinicians to meet key health targets and Ministry of Health expectations. You’ll lead a dedicated team of Clinical Nurse Coordinators and Booking Administrators, championing high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive operational excellence and delivery of planned care services
- Support and lead a multidisciplinary team with a transparent, inclusive leadership style
- Ensure effective scheduling and patient flow across multiple hospitals
- Monitor and report on performance against key health targets
- Foster strong working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
About the Team
Our dedicated team is made up of Clinical Nurse Coordinators and skilled administration professionals who work collaboratively to manage the patient journey from referral through to surgery. We are committed to ensuring timely, coordinated, and patient-centred care across our hospitals. With a shared focus on excellence, we support one another to meet health targets and deliver a seamless experience for our patients.
About you
- Proven leadership experience in the New Zealand healthcare environment
- Deep understanding of planned care, patient flow, and hospital operations
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to delegate effectively
- Proficient in Excel (intermediate to advanced) with strong numerical and analytical reasoning
- Confident using data to inform decisions and communicate insights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels
- A team player with a great sense of humour and a transparent leadership style
A clinical background or experience is not essential but beneficial.
