Associate Clinical Nurse Manager – Community Health Service
Location: Hutt Hospital
Contract: Fixed term (July 2026 - July 2027) 1 year fulltime Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am to 5pm

About the Role
The Associate Clinical Nurse Manager (ACNM) – Community Health Services is a supportive role to the Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM) – Community Health Services with responsibility for the day-to-day clinical coordination of the team to ensure the provision of high quality health care for patients.
The ACNM works in partnership with the CNM Community Health Services to develop clinical and operational excellence in service delivery and to deliver organisational objectives within the Community Directorate.
This position enables an effective practice environment through providing clinical and professional nursing leadership, coaching and monitoring standards of practice. The role requires the use expert knowledge and skill in the management of patients providing direct patient care as required. The ACNM also has on-going delegated responsibility for aspects of the CNM role and is responsible for day to day operational decision-making and line management activities for District Nurses, Administration staff, Health Care Assistants.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Community Health Service is made up of District Nurses, Associate Clinical Nurse Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Health Care Assistants and Admin support and works collaboratively with a wide variety of services within the Community Adult and Allied directorate and wider Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Community.
The District Nursing team is divided in to two geographical areas with an ACNM overseeing each geographical area taking responsibility for the team as well as having specific portfolio responsibility for the entire service.
About you
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Registered Nurse with a passion for Community Nursing, workforce development and addressing inequities of health care in the community.
To be successful in this role - You will:
- Have extensive knowledge of Community based care including wound care, catheter care, Acute and chronic care & transitional support services management.
- Be confident delivering education formally and informally with strong coaching and mentoring skills that support building a highly skilled District Nursing workforce.
- Have the confident working with a wide variety of clinicians, external agencies and service users.
- Have successfully completed or be working towards an Expert Portfolio & Post Graduate Diploma in nursing, working towards Masters.
