Booking Coordinator
Location: Lower Hutt Hospital
Contract: Permanent, Fixed Term (0.6 FTE)

About the Role
We are looking for our next part‑time Booking Administrator to support the scheduling of surgical patients. The role involves scheduling patient’s appointments and surgery dates, and managing elective surgical waiting lists across Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley. As the position requires regular phone contact with patients, a confident and excellent phone manner is essential. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail will also be key to succeeding in this role.
The working days for this position are Monday to Friday, with 4.8 hours worked per day.
The salary band for this role is $76,000 - $84,000 (pro-rata), depending on experience.

About the Team/Service Location
Our dedicated team consists of nurse coordinators and administrators working closely together to deliver planned care services, improving health and lifestyles of our population. Planning and scheduling pre-assessment appointments and surgery is the main focus of our work, providing our patients accurate pre-surgery instructions and dates and times of surgery.
We understand many of our patients can be anxious about their planned surgery; our team work hard at creating a smooth and efficient pathway. The Elective Services team are working closely with many departments such as Medical Records, Outpatient Clinics, Perioperative Unit and Surgical Admissions, ensuring at each stage in the scheduling process everyone has the information they require
