Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

Our Radiology Department serves the population of the Hutt Valley and Wairarapa areas. We receive a wide variety of clinical referrers, including regional Plastic Surgery and Rheumatology services as well as referrals from 2 Emergency Departments. We provide x-rays, ultrasounds, MRI and CT scans.

We are looking for an experienced Sonographer to lead the Ultrasound work in our newly transformed Radiology Department.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team

We are a friendly, professional and dedicated team of approximately 80 staff; with a ‘Can Do’ attitude who ensure the best possible care for our patients. Our team includes: Radiologists, Sonographers, Medical Imaging Technologists, MRI Technologists, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Administration/Bookings Team, and Data/IT/Quality staff. 

As a new Team Leader, you will lead and be part of our dynamic Ultrasound department; made up of 4 full time equivalent staff; who are focused on job satisfaction, team work and quality.

In addition we have a strong focus on ongoing quality improvement and constructive relationships with clinical colleagues. Our Radiology Department also holds International Accreditation New Zealand (IANZ) accreditation. 

Moū – About you

As a Charge Sonographer in our Ultrasound department you will be leading a fast moving fun environment, where you will be exposed to a large variety of work including MSK, Vascular, Obstetrics and General Sonography.

We are looking for a Sonographer with:

  • Current registration and practicing certificate with the NZ Medical Radiation Technologists Board (or eligible to apply)
  • Experience in abdominal, obstetrics and gynaecology, and small parts ultrasound.
  • Experience at a senior level
