About the Team/Service/ Location
Hutt Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) is part of the Hospital Operations Group within the Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district. As one of six key operational groups across the district’s provider services, we support care from primary through to tertiary level—serving not only our local community but also the wider Central Region. Services operate across Wellington Regional, Hutt, and Kenepuru Hospitals, providing high-quality, responsive care to a diverse and often high-acuity patient population.
Hutt ED is a dynamic, high-pressure environment where no two days are the same. Our team is highly adaptable and works with a broad spectrum of patient presentations, including a large number of Māori, Pasifika, and elderly patients with complex medical and social needs. This makes cultural safety, equity, and clinical excellence the foundation of everything we do.
We are a professional, supportive, and fun team who role model what it means to work as a whānau. Our team culture is one of mutual respect, collaboration, and compassion—qualities that are especially important in the Clinical Coach role. As a Clinical Coach, you’ll be part of a team that is deeply committed to the development of others. You’ll support the growth of both new and experienced staff, guiding their transition into emergency nursing and helping them build the confidence, skills, and critical thinking needed to thrive in ED.
Hutt ED has a strong focus on ongoing education and the development of advanced nursing roles. We offer well-established pathways to support professional development and career progression, and the Clinical Coach plays a key role in enabling those journeys. If you're passionate about supporting others, love emergency nursing, and want to make a lasting impact on staff and patient care, you'll find a rewarding and meaningful place on our team
