About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Dietitian to join our team at Hutt Hospital in a fixed term position to cover parental leave. The successful applicant will provide nutrition care for adult and paediatric patients with a wide range of nutrition diagnoses. The caseload may include adult inpatient with common referrals including parenteral nutrition, enteral feeding, malnutrition, oral nutrition support and wound healing in clinical areas of which may include ICU, surgical, medical and children’s ward. The paediatric caseload may include inpatients and outpatients clinics with common referrals including food allergies, faltering growth, problem feeding, and enteral nutrition. The specific areas of practice will be confirmed with the successful applicant depending on their knowledge and level of experience. Experience in enteral nutrition and some parenteral nutrition would be desirable

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our Dietitian Team at Hutt Hospital is comprised of ten clinicians supported by a Professional Lead. We work across paediatric and adult caseloads in acute, rehabilitation, outpatient and community settings. We are a fun and social group. About you

You will be an experienced NZ Registered Dietitian with current annual practicing certificate with prescribing endorsement. The ideal applicant will have at least two years of practice with experience working in a clinical role. You must be able to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, good communication skills, and the ability to build strong working relationships.  Excellent time management and prioritisation skills are a must.

We expect a commitment to and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to health, as well as a willingness to work towards improving health outcomes for Māori.
