Clinical Nurse Specialist - Cardiology


Location: Hutt Valley Hospital 

Contract:  Permanent Part-Time 0.8 FTE

About the Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our nurse-led cardiology service. We are looking for a motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist Registered Nurse Prescriber (or on a pathway to prescribe) to join our cardiology team. 

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will join a team of specialist nurses who provide cardiology nurse-led services to improve patient and whānau care across the Capital Coast and Hutt Valley District. The role is primarily based at Hutt Valley hospital, providing outpatient care to optimise heart health and recovery for people impacted by cardiac conditions. The salary range for this role is Senior Nurse Scale grade dependant on prescribing qualifications ( pro rata).

The Cardiology team at Hutt Valley Hospital are health professionals with passion for their work. The team is excited to welcome a new member to the senior nursing team. There are opportunities to be supported into the role from an experienced, enthusiastic and committed team of professionals. 

About you 

We are looking for an experienced nurse who is, or is ready to become an expert in this field. 

You will be:

  • Passionate about providing equitable, expert care to patients and their whānau living with cardiac conditions
  • Able to apply your advanced nursing practice to ensure quality outcomes for patient with cardiac conditions 
  • A RN Prescriber, or on the postgraduate education pathway
  • Excited about nurse-led cardiac services and demonstrate agility in clinical, inter-personal and scholarly environments 
  • Have a current New Zealand annual practising certificate
