Clinical Pharmacist


We have two positions available for a full-time permanent pharmacist and a fixed term 12-month position covering parental leave. 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a pharmacy department, we have a strong clinical presence across all areas of the hospital and linkages into our local community. We provide a comprehensive range of pharmaceutical care and extended roles to a variety of clinical areas.

Your primary role as a clinical pharmacist will be to work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a consultant-linked clinical pharmacy services to a range of medical, rehabilitation, surgical, and/or speciality teams. The role includes participation in ward rounds, medicines reconciliation, discharge counselling, dispensary services, mentoring, and promoting the safe and quality use of medicines.  You would be expected to provide high-quality, effective clinical pharmacy services with a focus on improving patient outcomes and ensuring optimal medicines utilisation.

The pharmacy team is well respected by clinicians, nursing staff, and senior management across the organisation, and is constantly looking at ways to improve the service and care it delivers.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

If you are highly self-motivated, enjoy working with other professionals, and can demonstrate effective teamwork and communication, then this role could be for you.  Candidates must have a current New Zealand APC in good standing, and at least three years of clinical experience. Hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
