Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
We are looking for an experience Consultant General Surgeon, with subspecialty expertise in Upper GI or Colorectal conditions.
The successful applicant will contribute to the general surgery service, trauma and general acutes and will also support an existing team of experienced surgeons to grow and develop this service for our patients.
You will be part of a dynamic and innovative department with a strong focus on ongoing quality improvement and positive relationships with clinical colleagues. Collaboration and a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care is integral to our service delivery here at the Hutt Hospital.
We manage patients with benign and malignant conditions and have other medical staff consisting of an Upper GI specialist, fellow, specialist general surgery trainees, junior registrars and house surgeons.
Moū – About you
- Vocationally registered in General Surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRACS or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
- Skills in both open and laparoscopic surgery are essential
- Relevant training and specialist experience
- Be able to demonstrate collegial working relationships with multi-disciplinary teams
