Dental Therapy Assistant


Location: Trentham Hub, Upper Hutt

Contract: Permanent, Part Time (0.6FTE / 24 hours per week - Hours of work are Monday to Wednesday 7.45 – 4.15pm)

About the Role

We are seeking a Dental Therapy Assistant to work in our Trentham Bee Healthy Dental Hub Clinic.

This is a great opportunity to work with tamariki in a healthcare environment. Dental therapy assistants provide chairside and administration support to oral health and dental therapists. The role is varied working in the dental hub clinic and visiting schools in our mobile dental van.

About the Team/Service Location 

This is a permanent part time role 3 days (24 hours) per week at our Trentham Hub in Upper Hutt.

Dental therapy assistants provide chairside and administration support to oral health therapists. 

Duties include chair-side dental assisting, sterilising, cross infection control of equipment and administration tasks. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you must have good communication skills and enjoy working with tamariki.  You need to be able to work in a collegial way in a team environment.

Good computer skills are needed with the ability to record and understand written information clearly and accurately. A Full driver’s licence is essential as staff are required to drive mobile dental vans to and from schools. Knowledge and experience with tamariki or working in a dental environment would be desirable but not essential as on the job training will be provided.
