About the Role 

We are looking for a Dietitian to join our Dietetic team at Hutt Hospital. 

The successful applicant will provide nutrition care for patients with a wide range of nutrition diagnoses in a variety of clinical settings, which may include inpatients, outpatients and primary health. The caseload may include acute medical and rehabilitation adult inpatients and outpatient clinics with common referrals including enteral feeding, malnutrition, oral nutrition support and gastrointestinal issues. In addition, some primary health care clinics, which covers Type 2 Diabetes referrals. The successful candidate may also be required to provide cover of clinical areas such as Burns and Plastics, ICU and Paediatrics at times.

The specific areas of practice will be confirmed with the successful applicant depending on their knowledge and level of experience.  The post-holder will represent Dietetics on multi-disciplinary teams. This position could be suitable for a motivated, proactive an experienced dietitian with at least 2 years’ experience.

About the Team/Service Location 

Our Dietitian Team at Hutt Hospital is comprised of eight clinicians supported by a Professional Lead. We work across paediatric and adult caseloads in acute, rehabilitation, outpatient and community settings. We are a fun and social group. About you 

You will be a NZ Registered Dietitian with current annual practicing certificate with prescribing endorsement. You must be able to demonstrate sound clinical reasoning, good communication skills, flexible problem solving approach and the ability to build strong working relationships.  Excellent time management and prioritisation skills are necessary. We expect a commitment to and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to health, as well as a willingness to work towards improving health outcomes for Māori
