Dietitian
Location: Hutt Hospital
Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.4 FTE

About the Role
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement nutritious tasty menus for a diverse patient population (including therapeutic diets and allergens) and lead the creative direction for our retail hospital café.
- Guide our team in maintaining and improving food safety standards.
- Strengthen the relationship between clinical dietitians and the kitchen team, ensuring clear communication and a unified approach to patient care.
- Monitor meal quality, presentation, and patient satisfaction, implementing continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with our diverse kitchen staff to ensure a high standard of nutrition, accuracy and allergen management.
About the Team/Service Location
The Food Services department at Hutt Hospital provides a vital role in supporting patient care and hospital operations. We serve approximately 200 inpatient meals three times a day, deliver 200 Meals on Wheels to recipients, and offer a cafeteria service for staff, visitors, and patients. Additionally, we provide internal and external catering services. Our team of dedicated kitchen staff works in a fast paced environment, taking pride in delivering safe, nutritious, and high-quality meals to support the health and well-being of our community.
About you
- New Zealand Registered Dietitian.
- Experience in food service management is preferable.
- A collaborative leader who thrives on bringing people together, solving problems creatively and keeping a diverse team motivated and inspired.
- A sharp eye for food safety standards and the ability to balance clinical necessity with culinary appeal.
- Passionate about working as part of a team to improve patient care through the delivery of tasty nutritious meals.
