About the Role 

District Nursing is part of the network of community based health care delivery services that aims to work in partnership with others to support treatment, rehabilitation, long term condition management and enable individuals to maximise their independence. Hours of work are predominantly Monday to Friday 8am-4.30pm with up to one weekend a month and occasional PM shifts 12.30pm-9pm. The salary range for this role is MECA Step 2-7 Registered Nurse $81,000 - $106 - pro rata.

About the Team/Service/ Location 

The Community Health Service provides a variety of specialist nursing services with a focus on quality health care, working alongside patients and their whanau to achieve optimum health outcomes. 

Our team is made of District Nurses, Associate Clinical Nurse Managers, Clinical Nurse Specialists Health Care Assistants and Admin support. The team supports skill acquisition through a comprehensive orientation programme, encouraging you to expand your knowledge and skills.

About you 

We are keen to hear from nurses who are interested in working in the community environment and integrating with other members of the community health care team.

Key skills include;

  • Wound Care Acute and Chronic
  • Acute assessment skills to support recognition of deterioration.
  • IV related therapies 
  • Catheter management 
  • General assessment skills to support people to live at home.
