Emergency Preparedness Coordinator


Regional Public Health has an opportunity for an experienced emergency management professional to join its Health Protection team in Lower Hutt.  This is a 0.6 fixed term, one year position. 

We are looking for a highly motivated and positive minded person to build emergency and contingency preparedness. This is a new position with a focus on developing response capacity within the organisation.

To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent inter-personal and written communication skills, be pro-active and comfortable working with diverse occupational teams. Experience in development of organisational response plans is essential. 


  • Tertiary qualification related to emergency management (desirable)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the DHB environment and the public health system (desirable)
  • Knowledge and/or a background in emergency management is essential
  • Level 4 Co-ordinated Incident Management System training (CIMS 4) (desirable)
