An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of our Gastroenterology service at Hutt Valley DHB. This is an excellent opportunity as we are part of the first wave of the national bowel screening programme with Hutt Valley being one of the first DHBs in the country to lead this change.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working at the Hutt Valley DHB you will become part of an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed team of health workers providing a modern and innovative approach to healthcare, with the bonus of a healthy, balanced lifestyle and opportunities for professional development. Only 15 minutes from the Wellington CBD, the Hutt Valley is home to many outdoor attractions and a haven for art lovers and beach goers.
Hutt Valley DHB provides secondary services for a population of approximately 148,000, with 24-hour acute and elective care in general and orthopaedic surgery, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, cardiology, regional rheumatology, regional burns and plastics, psychiatry, rehabilitation, gastroenterology and paediatrics.
We are seeking either a specialist Gastroenterologist who is keen on providing inpatient consults, endoscopy and outpatient services or a Gastroenterologist who would like to combine this with a General Physician role. Our position is a permanent full time role.
You will require a strong commitment to comprehensive care encompassed within Gastroenterology, including full involvement in the acute roster. To work in this role you will need to be eligible for Vocational Scope Registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.
Hutt Valley DHB is working in close partnership with our neighbouring DHBs, Wairarapa and Capital & Coast, to ensure a more coordinated sub-regional approach to delivering care to our communities.
We are committed to clinical excellence in all disciplines; and Senior Medical Staff are encouraged to take part in clinical audits and peer-reviews to ensure quality clinical care is provided.
