Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role

We are seeking a general surgery Fellow to join our General Surgery Department for 12 months from February 2024. This role would suit a New Zealand or overseas candidate who wants to further their knowledge and career by doing Fellowship before taking up a consultant role in the future.  This is a senior registrar level appointment.

This role covers Senior Medical Officer (SMO) general surgical on call responsibilities, requiring ability to manage acute emergencies as well as options for elective general surgery lists.

This Fellow appointment would suit someone who has recent general surgery experience and ideally is someone who has passed their final examinations and is looking to gain more experience.

We offer access to sports, diverse cultural activities and great schools – both public and private.

We have lots of areas to explore for those keen on outdoors pursuits with only a short drive from the Hutt Valley to Wellington.
