Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.8 FTE Rostered and Rotating

About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for Experienced Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to join our nursing team. As a Health Care Assistant in our busy Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service, you will become an important part of our multi-disciplinary team. We are looking to recruit positive and enthusiastic health care assistant who have a genuine interest in patient well-being. We have an exciting and supportive environment. You will ideally have experience in working with older people, either in a rest home or hospital environment. We are currently looking for a permanent part-time (0.8 FTE) HCA. About the Team/Service/ Location
The Older Person & Rehabilitation Service (OPRS) at Hutt Hospital consists of two wards (East) and (West). We provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation & discharge planning for people of all ages 16 years and over who have experienced stroke, fractures, amputations, reconditioning post-surgery and falls. We also provide Older Persons Mental Health Service, complex discharge planning palliative care and comprehensive geriatric assessment and treatment.
About you
The HCA contributes to the successful operation of the nursing team by collaborating and working alongside the Inter-disciplinary team, Registered Nurse (RN), and/or Enrolled Nurse (EN) to meet the patient/client needs.
- The Health Care Assistant will assist with delegated patient care, cleaning and undertake housekeeping or clerical functions.
- The Health Care Assistant may also be required to undertake a specific area of responsibility, as assigned by their manager.
- Quality practice and improved patient safety is an important part of this role.
