About the Role 

The Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service (OPRS) is looking a casual Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our team. You will work under the direction and delegation of the nursing team to provide assistance to patients to meet their activities of daily living, comfort and safety needs. The role also includes housekeeping duties to provide a clean, tidy and organised ward environment.

About the Team/Service Location 

The Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service (OPRS) consists of two inpatient wards at Hutt Hospital. We provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and discharge planning for people admitted with a wide range of medical conditions including stroke, fractures, amputations and deconditioning post illness or surgery. We also provide older persons mental health inpatient care.

About you 

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a caring nature with a good work ethic
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Current experience working as an HCA in a health care setting or in a related health care service
