Intensive Care Medicine Specialist (12-15 months fixed term)

About the role
Great opportunity for an Intensive Care Medicine Specialist to join a vibrant and growing clinical team at Hutt Intensive Care Unit for a fixed period to cover paternal leave.
The role is 1 FTE (4 days a week) with 1:10 on call provision.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our Hutt department is a modern mixed ICU / HDU that has recently expanded to 8 beds, and provides all aspects of level 2 care to its local population, with approximately 750 admissions a year. It is a mixed ICU/HDU, about 60% medical patients, but also providing for tertiary burns/plastics, other surgical specialities, and paediatrics.
There are 4 FCICMs and 2 OTS, with ICU-interested anaesthetist providing the rest of the care.
Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. We operate three hospitals – Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hutt Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua – as well as the Kāpiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
About you
- Vocationally registered in Intensive care medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FCICM or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
- Enjoys teaching and growing the skill set of our RMO team
- Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Relevant experience and training
