Nurse Educator For Hutt Valley Community Mental Health Team

Location: Hutt South and Central Community Mental Health team base 40-42 Queens Drive Lower Hutt
Contract: Fixed term ( 1 year) Full time – 40 hours per week 8am – 4.30pm

About the Role
This is a senior designated nursing role is critical for ensuring and maintaining essential nursing knowledge and standards of safe quality care. They will provide expertise and role modelling by working with staff to teach, coach and demonstrate practice excellence.
The Nurse Educator (NE) is responsible for facilitating training and education that develops the nursing workforce competence and capability within this team. in both clinical and non-clinical settings developing, implementing and evaluating orientation, ongoing training, education programmes and resources. provide expertise and role modelling by working with staff to teach, coach and demonstrate practice excellence.
The Nurse Educator is expected to contribute to implementing District and nursing goals and values, while promoting Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley as a centre of excellence for nursing practice.
About the Team/Service Location
Hutt South and Central Community Mental Health Services is the largest community based mental health team in Wellington, serving a diverse geographical area and a diverse population. We are centrally located with access to public transport, riverbank car park and Queensgate. Our service has a strong, dedicated and supportive team. About you
We are looking for the following experience and professional requirements:
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) and scope appropriate to place of work
- Demonstrates an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in the nursing role
- A commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori
- Three years post-registration MHAIDS experience
- Postgraduate Diploma required or a confirmed timeframe and plan to attain this qualification.
- Relevant qualification in adult education or confirmed timeframe and plan to obtain to support NE deliverables
- Proficient (or equivalent) on PDRP, and a personal commitment to on-going learning and development including attainment/maintenance of Senior PDRP
- Drivers licence
