Nurse Educator - Perioperative


ABOUT THE ROLE

The Nurse Educator provides professional nursing leadership, working with staff to meet quality and safety standards of care. This includes contributing to the development of policies and procedures and providing support for nurses undertaking graduate / postgraduate education. 

In this role you will be based in the busy perioperative service at Hutt Hospital. You will be responsible for supporting both nursing staff, health professionals and unregulated workers to enhance their skills and knowledge.  As a member of the Practice Development Unit you will take part in organising wide projects where appropriate, and work in partnership with the Charge/Clinical Nurse Managers to achieve goals as they relate to quality, safety and the education, training and ongoing professional development of the nursing workforce. 

We have a permanent 0.6 FTE role, available, working Monday to Friday with actual hours by mutual agreement. 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 

To ensure you are successful in this role you will need to have 4-5 years post registration experience in the perioperative setting, be a Registered Nurse, with a current APC, and  hold a relevant post grad qualification (or working towards one).
