ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner specialising in emergency care?
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a new state-of-the art department supported by a highly effective emergency department team.
We are a mixed adult/paediatric urban district ED seeing 47,000 patients per year with an admission rate of 24 – 25% and we are supported by a 16 bed Medical Planning & Assessment Unit, as well as excellent medical and surgical teams. The Hutt Hospital is also the regional centre for Burns and Plastics.
We are committed to clinical excellence in all disciplines; and our senior staff are encouraged to take part in clinical audits and peer-reviews to ensure quality clinical care is provided.
If you are able to provide autonomous expert nursing care within an emergency department, incorporating advanced knowledge and skills we would love to hear from you.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A current practising certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with evidence of meeting continuing competence requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in acute and or emergency care
- Knowledge and experience in the management of minor illness and injury, including wound management, suturing, fracture management
- Research experience and demonstrate evidence based practice
- Experience with project / change management
