Occupational Therapist / Kaiwhakaora Ngangahau – Inpatient Team

Contract: Full time, 12 months fixed term
About the role
We are seeking an Occupational Therapist with an immediate start to take up a fixed term contract working in our inpatient acute and rehabilitation service.
While the role would initially be based on our rehabilitation ward, our ideal candidate would work flexibly across acute and rehabilitation services to support client care.
This position is 40 hours per week. It is suitable for an occupational therapist with 3+ years clinical experience. We are looking for a candidate who has either experience working in acute wards and /or rehabilitation.
You will be working collaboratively with patients, their whanau and the multidisciplinary team, therefore good communication skills are essential.
You will find professional support from your Occupational Therapy colleagues within the team and from the Professional Leader for Occupational Therapy. You will receive regular supervision and mentoring working within a team of experienced therapists.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to liaise effectively with health professionals both within the in-patient services and community
- Strong clinical reasoning skills
- Effective time management and organisational skills
- Strong prioritisation skills and experience with complex discharge planning
Applicants must hold New Zealand OT Board registration, have a current APC and a full NZ driver’s licence.
