Our vision is for an integrated mental health and addiction service, with a focus on local delivery across the district. Local specialist mental health and addiction care is one component of a complete service continuum of care pathway. This is underpinned by an integrated whole of system approach. 

We are looking for a person-directed, values-driven registered nurse for the Hutt Crisis Resolution Service. The Registered Nurse (RN) role is to meet the needs of people and whanau accessing our services using contemporary nursing care which is safe, appropriate and effective. The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and is person/whānau centred, culturally appropriate and evidence-based. Quality improvement and patient safety is an important part of this role. The RN will respond to the changing needs of Te Whatu Ora, performing other tasks as required. The RN is expected to contribute to the implementation of District and nursing goals and values, and to promote Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Capital, Coast, Hutt Valley and Wairarapa as a centre of excellence for nursing practice

About the Team/Service Location

Based at Hutt Valley Hospital, the Wellington Crisis Resolution Service provides 24/7 clinical, multi-disciplinary assessment, treatment, and care to tāngata whaiora and whānau who are presenting with acute mental health crisis and need intensive support across the Hutt Valley locality.   

About you

We are looking for the following experience and professional requirements:

  • Registered mental health professional with a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Working in a way that aligns with the values and service delivery model of the Local Adult Specialist Mental Health and Addiction Service including a commitment to Te Tiriti ō Waitangi and ensuring equitable outcomes for priority populations.
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience working in a clinical mental health setting, ideally in a crisis service or community mental health and addiction team.
  • Proven experience in managing teams through change, both planned and unanticipated
  • Full Driver's License and ability to consent to full Police Vetting Check.
