Registered Nurse - Integrated Operations Centre


Location: Hutt Hospital

Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.8 FTE Rostered and Rotating

About the Role

This role offers variation plus!  The Registered Nurse IOC supports excellent patient care and hospital flow across all clinical areas.  This will be achieved through a mix of being allocated to one area and workload for a full shift, and supporting areas temporarily as part of Variance Response Management.  Care of patients during transfer of care setting will be required, too – both between our hospital departments and inter hospital. 

About the Team/Service/ Location

The Integrated Operations Centre (IOC), provides a comprehensive support service which comprises of Duty Nurse Managers, the Variance Response team, Allocation and Casual staff, Transit Nurses, National Travel Assistance and the Transit Hub.  In normal working hours the IOC supports the directorates to meet their targets and plans, and after hours holds the delegated authority of the directorates to ensure the best possible use of resources and processes.  We are a dedicated and supportive team who collectively strive to achieve best patient, whānau and staff outcomes.

About you

  • You thrive in a busy role and are committed to doing your best to support patients and your colleagues.
  •  Possess at least three years of acute nursing experience with an extensive acute care skill set. 
  • Familiar with the New Zealand health care setting and processes is highly advantageous.
  •  Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work within different teams and establish rapport rapidly.
  • You are confident in your communication and can manage competing priorities calmly.
  • Values our obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and demonstrates commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori.
