Registered Nurse - Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service


Location: Hutt Hospital

Contract: Permanent, Part Time 0.9 FTE Rostered and Rotating 8 hour shifts

About the Role 

The Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service (OPRS) consists of two inpatient wards at Hutt Hospital. We provide assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and discharge planning for people admitted with a wide range of medication condition including stroke, fractures, amputations and deconditioning post illness or surgery. We also provide older persons mental health inpatient care.

We are looking for a part time Registered Nurse to work 0.9 FTE (72 hours per fortnight). Our shifts are rostered and rotating including weekends and night shifts.

About the Team/Service Location 

OPRS is an interesting place to work as our patients are admitted with a wide variety of health conditions. Our supportive nursing team consists of senior nurses, registered nurses, enrolled nurses and health care assistants. We work alongside medical and allied health colleagues in a multidisciplinary team. We provide ongoing education and professional development opportunities.

About you 

The ideal applicant attributes:

  • Have a current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Experience and empathy working with older people
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong time management skills and resilience to thrive in a busy ward environment
  • A good level of computer literacy
