About the Role 

Are you an enthusiastic and motivated nurse looking to develop your career in clinical research? We are seeking a Research Nurse to join our Clinical Trials Unit, supporting a diverse portfolio of clinical trials across Wellington and Hutt Hospitals.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will help coordinate clinical trials across the full study lifecycle — from start-up and participant recruitment through to study delivery, follow-up and close-out. Working alongside investigators, research teams, participants and industry sponsors, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality research and ensuring excellent participant care. About the Team/Service/Location 

Our team operates across Wellington Regional Hospital and Hutt Hospital, supporting the delivery and oversight of a diverse range of research and clinical trials. You will join a collaborative and experienced team of research nurses, coordinators, investigators and research professionals, working together to deliver high-quality research and excellent care for participants.

About you 

We are looking for a motivated Registered Nurse with strong clinical skills and an interest in clinical research. You will be organised, adaptable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.

  • New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate and relevant clinical nursing experience.
  • Advanced clinical assessment skills with the ability to provide safe, participant-centred and culturally responsive care.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in databases and electronic data management systems. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with participants, investigators, clinical teams and research colleagues.
  • Previous clinical research experience and/or Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training is desirable; however, training and support will be provided.
