Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
Senior Dental Therapy Assistants spend (approximately) 30% of their time supporting the Team Leader in a range of leadership and team administration functions, including recruitment, overseeing mentoring and training of Dental Therapy Assistants, and undertaking audits and reviews.
The other (approximately) 70% of their time they work clinically as Dental Therapy Assistants. As Dental Therapy Assistants, the primary purpose of their role is to assist and support the Therapist by providing clinical and administrative support. They are also involved collegially in ensuring the good running, cleaning, and maintenance of the hub.

Mō tō mātou rōpū – About our team
The Bee Healthy Regional Dental Service is a community based service providing free (publicly funded) dental care for children up to and including year 8. We provide oral health care to children in community based hubs and mobile vans. Our team is committed to achieving health equity for Maori and Pacific children
Moū – About you
You are a Dental Assistant with at least 3 years’ experience preferably in a community oral health service. You have a high skill level in all aspects of Dental Therapy responsibilities including both clinical and administrative. Leadership experience (in paid and/or voluntary roles) is an advantage as is experience mentoring dental assistants. The ability to converse in te reo Māori, Pacific Island languages, and/or the languages of refugee communities would be beneficial. You have good computer, written and oral skills and have the the ability to learn new computer skills. A current drivers licence is required as the role requires driving to other hub clinics in the service.
