About the Role 

The Service Manager is the key operational leader providing oversight and support to Women and Children's Health Services in the Hutt Valley area.  The role is currently based at Hutt hospital in central Lower Hutt.  The Service Manager is part of an operational leadership team across the Capital Coast & Hutt Valley District. 

The salary range is $150,000 - $162,000.

About the Team/Service Location 

The Service Manager is based predominantly at Hutt hospital however works closely with operational management colleagues based in Wellington.  The Service Manager is responsible for inpatient and outpatient services including:

  • Maternity services
  • The birthing unit
  • Children's ward
  • Gynaecological service
  • The child development service
  • Child and family safety service. 

About you 

We are looking for an experienced leader who preferably has health sector experience and enjoys working in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment. It is expected the service structure will change over time so your change management experience will be important. You will be a team player with highly developed communication skills, relationship management experience and skills.

Ideally you will hold a health professional qualification or have had significant relevant experience. Services operational management experience is essential as is managing budgets particularly public money.

You must be committed to partnering with clinicians across nursing, midwifery, allied health and the medical professions, to enable quality services and health outcomes to be delivered to those we support and provide care to.
